“Textile belt of South India”
Traditionally in India, the Textile industry has always managed to stand second to Agriculture, as the only industry that has generated massive employment for both skilled as well as unskilled labour in Textiles, and continues to be the second largest employment generating sector in India with over 35 million individuals directly employed, in the country.
India is currently the second largest producer of cotton fibre in the world, and such growth was inspired by the strong domestic demand combined with the revival of the Economic markets in 2009. Attributed to a vision for growth, Martin Spinning Mills was established, thereby imprinting our first footprints amongst many other highly successful groups, to make the best of this gainful opportunity and contribute to the overall industry, productively.
Our first mill is located in Coimbatore, a district famous for its Textile Industry and also known as the cotton town, owing to the large proportions of naturally occurring black soil that has aided the production of cotton. Coimbatore along with Tirupur, Salem and Erode form the “Textile belt of South India”, and together generate a combined export revenue of about Rs. 25,000 crore.
Ever since, the company has managed to grow rapidly and now successfully operates four mill units based in Coimbatore and Dindigul .
